Pre and Postpartum depression is a hidden time bomb which most of the family members are unable to recognize. Entire family and new mother remain busy thinking and managing the arrival of a new life and everyone ignores the symptoms either completely or just blame the hormones.
During pregnancy and after delivery a new mother may experience anxiety, extreme sadness, no motivation to take care of self, feeling empty, reacts too much on small little things, faces confusion and indecisiveness, sometimes unable to carrying out daily routine tasks etc.
Almost every new mother goes through this in various degrees however most are able to overcome with loving support of family but few don't. Mostly remain those who develop Pre or Postpartum depression are at greater risk of developing major depression later in life too.
Awareness of this problem is the first step in recognizing and addressing it at early stage. Choosing the right therapy is the next step. Healing, counseling, joining support group helps. Sometimes the symptoms are more severe and require medical attention. Remember that "we talk openly in the family", "we take good care of her" etc. hardly helps the person facing depression. Also seeking professional help in such situation don't reflect badly on family's support but brings more respect.
Combination of person centric healing and counseling works hand in hand to empower the person holistically. Healing helps restoring the happiness by balancing the energy body, chakras, aura etc. where are counseling empowers her to deal with the unhealthy thought patterns, feelings and somatic symptoms.
It's extremely important to have a healthy, happy mother and motherhood experience to nurture a happy, healthy child.
